I have not run seriously in about 5 years. That was when I found out I was going to have my first child and pregnancy definitely took its toll on me. About two months before I became pregnant I competed in a mini-tri and I loved it. But once you become a parent your priorities shift. No longer was I concerned with myself but with my little girl.
Well, 5 years and 2 kids later, I still love to run but haven't had a lot of time to train. My husband is a firefighter and his schedule shifts from week to week making it difficult to get into a training routine.
My daughter is now 4 and will be going to preschool every morning for 4 hours which leaves me with my son and some time to dedicate back to myself and what I really enjoy doing.
So- I did it! Before I could back out, change my mind, or come up with excuses not to, I entered a 13K.
The Disney Tower of Terror race is going to be a goal that is for me and only me. My training will begin July 23rd and I am really excited. Hopefully I will be able to grow stronger and do this. I can't wait for this adventure to begin :)
